Time to head home (for those who work or go to school anyway). We will stay on to see more, but first a couple days in Nairobi - enough time to see the Giraffe Center near the Karen Blixen Giraffe Manor, and the David Sheldrick Foundation Elephant Orphanage.

The Giraffe Center was great. A chance to see the endangered Rothschild Giraffe and have some fun feeding them. With Giraffe Manor as a backdrop it was beautiful. I suppose we could have stayed at the manor, but at $1,500 per person per night (no typo), we decided the $25 per person to go to the center worked just fine.

Next stop was the Sheldrick Foundation Elephant Orphanage. An incredible place with interesting narrative as you viewed first a baby rhino who was orphaned in Ol Pejeta Conservancy (our next stop), and then two groups of orphaned elephants. The effort is to get the elephants back into the wild after taking care of the for some time.

This was a great way to end our safari adventure in Kenya. Everyone had a great time and as a first international trip for our grandsons, they were incredible. It’s not easy getting up at 5:00 AM everyday, but no one wants to miss seeing something new and special on a game drive. They enjoyed learning about the culture of the Maasai people and enjoyed the food and game drives.

A great mix of family and a fabulous trip!
They will head home and we will head out once again to see what we can see.
Make sure to check out all the photos in the albums and the videos as well.
Take care,
Tim & Eileen
