From Sorrento we took about an all day boat trip to visit Amalfi and Positano on the Amalfi Coast. Beautiful way to see things - from the water and just strolling through a couple of the main towns in the region. The most harrowing part of the journey is simply getting to and from the marina. The streets are narrow and windy, and the drivers of the vans (very professional) have to meet their schedule - so hold on!

Safely down to the marina and on the boat headed first for Amalfi. beautiful coastline as we head from Sorrento, around the point, with Capri Island to our right, and onto the Amalfi Coast. We pass a boat dropping traps for Octopus (or possibly shrimp) off of a small island called Delphine. Google “Delphine Island Amalfi Coast” and you’ll see how it got its name.

Beautiful views as we keep heading toward Amalfi. Who builds a house above a giant cave?? Oh well.

We keep going and find a most incredible hotel with a fabulous beachside cafe and the whole works. But I’d hate to come all the way down from my room only to find I left my iPhone back up in the room! (Good exercise is overrated).

Finally we come into Amalfi and have about 90 minutes to wander the town. We visit St. Andrews Cathedral, which is an incredible place. Many artifacts (relics) of St. Andrew are still here, and the art is incredible.

A quick bite of lunch and we are back on the boat headed for Positano.

The views on the way to Positano are incredible (visit the photo’s in the Amalfi Coast album for more), and Positano is another beautiful coastal town. Many shops, lots of ceramics, and finally a Lemon Margarita along with Lemon Sorbet!

Yes - all is well with the world!
